“‘I Am Their Voice’ is a must-read for adults with aging or suddenly incapacitated or disabled loved ones. Personally, this book made me laugh and cry. It was both educational and cathartic, resonating deeply with my own experiences as a caregiver. I am profoundly grateful to Mrs. Moore for allowing me the opportunity to read this book when I did, following a period of caregiving for my father.”

“I Am Their Voice: A guide to caregivers and advocates” is an absolute gem. My aunt poured her heart and soul into this book, and it shows on every page. It’s not just informative—it’s deeply captivating and emotional. As someone who’s witnessed the challenges of caregiving firsthand, I found this guide to be incredibly relatable and filled with wisdom, compassion, and practical advice.
What sets this book apart is how it balances real-life stories with tangible tools and support. It made me appreciate all she did taking care of my dad and grandma, and was very inspirational. She really captured their lives, personalities, their decline and the true struggles she went through. Whether you’re new to caregiving or have been in the role for years, this book will speak to you in powerful ways. Truly a must-read!

What unfolds is a moving, eye-opening account of the emotional complexities and shifting dynamics that define the caregiver’s path.

"I Am Their Voice" is an invaluable resource for family and friends who serve as caregivers. The difficulties caregivers face, including sleep-deprived days and the need for ingenuity in communication, often go unnoticed. As a nurse, I understood these trials until I became a caregiver for a loved one in the early to middle stages of FTD. A caregiver is a world apart from a medical professional.
The author offers genuine transparency and vulnerability, inviting us to share her pain. She fearlessly advocates for her mother and brother, and the direct approach she speaks of is crucial when interacting with many medical professionals. The patient is counting on us to be their voice, as the author says.
Her writing will deeply resonate with caregivers who find themselves in similar circumstances. All forms of dementia are devastating. Thank you for shedding light on this issue and providing invaluable information and support for those in need.
